4 Reasons I Love Swurl

There is a new look at 8 seconds of awesome and I wanted to tell everyone about it.  It is running on Swurl, which is described as “a place to bring all the things you do online together to share in a blog-like format.”

I discovered it after it appeared on Lifehacker and immediately fell in love with it.  It looks beautiful (something I will come back to often) and it fills some much needed services:

  1. livesearch - This is something that I have been wanting for a while for 8 seconds of awesome but I never was exceptionally happy with the results.  livesearch takes it to the next level by searching through any of the feeds I throw at it.   I haven’t really explored how to deep it goes but I am happy so far.
  2. Recent Conversation - Another thing that I have been wanting is a simple comments sections.  Type in your name and leave your comment.  No registeration required and it hangs out on at the top of the page on the right hand side.  Comments can have additional comments and bad comments can be double-clicked and immediately disappear.
  3. Timeline - Another thing I have been wanting for some time is a way to show that just because I am not doing any new posts that it doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing other stuff.  And to top it off, it just looks so beautiful.
  4. Friends - This is a compilation of all the activity of contacts I make on my subscribed feeds.  A nice place for me to scan what is going on quickly without having to subscribe to each individually.  This is very similar to FriendFeed but with a pretty wrapper.

Try out all the new toys and please comment.  I would love to hear from you.
